4. Determine the Flatwork
False endtreads/landing cap (open tread system) or Wall Cap (closed tread system). We have several levels of False endtreads to select from taking a Good, Better and Best approach.
5. Optional - Add a more decorative handrail fitting at the starting step, to an 'Over the Post' Rail System or a 'Hybrid' Rail System.
Note: All three choices will work with Open Tread or Closed Tread Systems

6. Optional - Add kickboard (inside skirting) and/or skirtboard (outside skirting) to your stair system.
The Skirting is identified in two different components. We refer to it as a Kickboard (inside skirting) when used walk side of an open tread stair or closed tread stair (it would be in a location where you could kick it upon traveling the stair). And Skirtboard would refer to the trim board when applied to the outer location of an open tread or closed tread system applied as a decorative fascia board.

7. Optional - Add a half newel or rosette at locations where balustrades terminate into a wall.
